Hello! I’m Nannette Williams, a licensed marriage and family therapist and school counselor with over 30 years of experience, currently practicing in Charleston, SC. As a sole business owner, when you contact via phone or email, you’ll receive a personal response from me. This unique approach allows me to provide you with more time and individualized attention compared to therapists working within a system.

We’re facing challenging times, and you may encounter issues such as difficult relationships, anxiety, depression, school or work-related stress, grief and loss (including death, divorce, and infertility), addiction, or a general sense that something isn’t right in your life.

Speaking to a non-judgmental and unbiased counselor is helpful. Asking friends and family to help you with difficult life issues doesn’t always work. Counseling is confidential, meaning private, and this gives you a place to safely express yourself and learn new ways to approach your life.

I work with individual, couples, and families from adolescence through adulthood. If I’m working with a family with younger children I can include them in the process as well. I’m a spiritual person and respect all religious beliefs. It is up to you to decide if you want to include spirituality into your therapy. There is also the issue of spiritual/religious trauma and I can help with this type of problem.

Couples, marriage, premarital, and divorce counseling constitute a significant part of my practice. If you are in a struggling relationship, it’s challenging to feel your best, and it can even negatively impact your health. Relationship betrayal including affairs and porn can devastate trust. If there’s hope for repairing the relationship, therapy can assist in reestablishing communication, trust, affection, and connection. If you’re going through a divorce, counseling can aid in the process and facilitate recovery. My training in working with children helps with couples who are divorcing with children.

Finding the right therapist can be a difficult task. You can ask potential therapists questions and get a sense of their personality through a phone call before beginning treatment. You can email or call me for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
